Kia Sonet CNG Car Launched With 27Kmpl Mileage, Check Price And Features

Kia Sonet CNG Car: While the theories are in full bloom, Kia India is firmly of the opinion that they shall never launch a CNG variant of the Sonet. Vice-President of Sales & Marketing of Kia India expressed that his company typically considered diesel as the option for the price-conscious buyer; hence, having a CNG variant would, in fact, bring down the value of the current portfolio.

The disappeariant articles and mule sightings once again fan hopes for a mid-2025 launch during the festivities (August-November), with whispers of pricing in the ₹11 lakh to ₹14 lakh ex-showroom range, according to Car Blog India.

Kia Sonet CNG Car Powertrain & Mileage

The 1.0-litre turbo-petrol CNG engine is rated at 118 bhp and 172 Nm torque and is available with a 5-speed manual and an iMT.

If it is true, then those mileage ratings of 25 to 27 km/kg would be mind-boggling and would surely make it the most fuel-efficient compact SUV in the segment along with the Altroz by Tata.

Features of Kia Sonet CNG Car

Reports stated that the CNG model will maintain the premium features available in the higher Sonet trims: a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen, digital instrument cluster, six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, rear camera, Level-1 ADAS.

Price of Kia Sonet CNG Car

Sonet CNG is supposed to enter the market at a premium of ₹90,000 to ₹1.1 lakh over its equivalent petrol model. Thus, the in-town price would tentatively be set somewhere between ₹11 Lakh and ₹13 Lakh on the ex-showroom basis, with on-road prices shooting up at a minimum price level of ₹13.5 to ₹17.5 Lakhs, dependent on location or tax charges.
Within this price bracket, the Maruti Brezza CNG and the soon-to-come Hyundai Venue CNG would line up against the Sonet, with a slight lean towards the latter for turbo performance and interior tech.
